This Day in NBA History: March 8th

1954
The Milwaukee Hawks defeat the Baltimore Bullets twice in the NBA's only double-header. The Hawks won 64-54, then 65-54.

2006
After the tragic events of Hurricane Katrina, the Hornets hold the first major sporting game in New Orleans. The Los Angeles Lakers would defeat the Hornets in front of a sold-out crowd in the New Orleans Arena.

2008
In a "do-over" game, the Atlanta Hawks defeat the Miami Heat. The game was replayed with 51.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter after Atlanta's score-keeper accidentally fouled out Shaquille O'Neal. In actuality, O'Neal only had five fouls causing Miami to protest the game. Oddly enough, O'Neal did not play in the "do-over".
