Blake Griffin is NBA's Top Rookie

Clippers foward Blake Griffin will be presented with this season's NBA Rookie of the Year award. Despite missing the entire 2009-2010 season, Griffin burst onto the scene with his captivating play and his countless number of outrageous dunk.

Blake averaged 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists and became the first rookie since Yao Ming to participate in the All-Star Game.

Blake Griffin's first career triple-double earns him Wednesday's honors. The rookie sensation dropped 33 points, pulled down 17 boards, and dished out 10 assists. Although Griffin fouled out, his dominant performance propelled the Clippers to a 127-119 victory over Washington in double-overtime.

The Dunk That Never Was

Rookie sensation Blake Griffin has had his fair share of incredible dunks this season. Alley-oops, posterizations, reverses, 360's...he's pretty much done it all. In fact, you could compose a ten minute highlight reel of the dunks he has done this season alone.

But perhaps his latest dunk is his best yet. Griffin threw one down over the Phoenix big man Marcin Gortat for a nasty slam on Sunday. However, it didn't count.

Instead of adding yet another amazing play to his vault, Griffin's dunk was nullified after the referee called an offensive foul on Blake.

Although it didn't count, here is the dunk that never was:

I feel like I don't have to write an intro to this dunk. All I have to say is Blake Griffin.

And props to Baron Davis for the sick setup.

The Association Awards

It is now February and it means only two things. The NBA All-Star Game is taking shape and the Academy Awards are soon approaching. In celebration of these two events, Hoop and the Harm presents the first annual Association Awards. A handful of award presented at the Academy Awards will be matched to a player, coach, or team that has best fulfilled that respective category. And instead of receiving an Oscar for their performances, the individuals will receive an Oscar Robertson, in honor of NBA legend, Oscar Robertson. So without further delay, here are the winners:
