This Day in NBA History: February 2nd

1993:
Dominique Wilkins surpasses Hall of Famer Bob Pettit on the Atlanta Hawks' all-time scoring list to become the franchise's top scorer. Wilkins scored 34 points in a 118-109 win against Seattle.

1994:
Atlanta Hawks Coach Lenny Wilkens wins his 900th game. The victory over Orlando made Wilkens only the second coach to reach 900 victories. Red Auerbach is the other.

2008:
Kobe Bryant scores 61 points in a 126-117 win over the Knicks in New York. Bryant's performance is considered one of the greatest in the history of Madison Square Garden.
