This Day in NBA History: February 9th

1986:
Isiah Thomas leads the East to a 139-132 victory over the West in the NBA All-Star Game. Thomas received MVP honors as he scored 30 points and dished out 10 assists.

1991:
Craig Hodges sinks 19 straight shots in the AT&T Shootout, breaking Larry Bird's record of 11.

1992:
In his second All-Star MVP performance, Magic Johnson scores a game-high 25 points and dishes out another game-high of 9 assists in a 153-113 West victory. it was the first time Johnson played since announcing his retirement on November 7, 1991.

1997:
Glen Rice scores a record 24 points in the second half of the NBA All-Star Game, leading the East to 132-120 win while capturing MVP honors. Michael Jordan became the first player in All-Star Game history to record a triple-double. He has 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

1997:
The 50 Greatest Players in NBA History are honored.
