This Day in NBA History: February 8th

1986:
5'7" Spud Webb defeats Dominique Wilkins to become the shortest player to win Slam Dunk Contest. Earlier that night, Larry Bird won the first AT&T Shootout.

1987:
The West defeats the East in an overtime thriller by the tune of 154 to 149. This set the record for most combined points in an All-Star Game. Tom Chambers of the SuperSonics wins MVP honors after posting a game-high 34 points.
