Statement Made: Lakers rally to top Celtics

Statement Made: Lakers 92, Celtics 86

Kobe Bryant and Lakers made it known that they're still the champs. Read after the jump for the breakdown of the Lakers' huge win.

If you watched the Lakers-Celtics game on Thursday night, then you saw the real Lakers. The defending champion Lakers who play intelligent, aggressive, and dominant basketball.

Enough cannot be said about the frontline play of Los Angeles tonight. Bynum, Gasol, and Odom combined for 46 points, 31 rebounds, and shot a collective 18 for 35 from the field. The Lakers owned the paint, scoring 50 points down low compared to Boston's 32.

We also saw a taste of classic Kobe in the second half. Bryant laid back in the first 24 minues, only taking three shot attempts and playing the role as distributor. But with the second half came a more offensively aggressive Bryant. Kobe scored 20 of his 23 points in the last two quarters, hitting huge shots down the stretch. Surprised?

Kobe's biggest shot came with the Lakers up four and 48 seconds left. Bryant pulled up for a 13-foot jumper and drained what became the game's dagger, putting L.A. up by six.

Although Ray Allen passing Reggie Miller was a touching moment, it only turned out to be a subtitle in the Lakers' biggest win since Game 7 of the 2010 Finals.

What else did we learn from tonight's game? Well here's a list:

- Threaten Andrew Bynum with trade rumors and he'll play well.
- If you shave Ray Allen's mom's hair, you would never be able to tell the difference between her and Ray.
- Reggie Miller is a class act, no matter what Spike Lee says.
- You can't beat the Lakers when their bigs show up to play.
- Kobe is still the best closer in basketball.
- The Lakers shouldn't wear gold on the road. It just looks weird.
- Kendrick Perkins never believes the officials.
- Ray Allen is the best shooter to ever play the game.
- The Lakers-Celtics rivalry is the best in sports right now.
