Los Angeles Laker Wilt Chamberlain becomes the first player in NBA history to score 30,000 points in a career. At the time, no player ever reached the 25,000 point mark.

1992
Earvin "Magic" Johnson's number 32 is retired at the Great Western Forum during halftime of a Lakers-Celtics game.
