Michael Jordan wins his first Slam Dunk title in Seattle. Jordan's end-to-end dunk results in the creation of his famous logo.
1991:
Larry O'Brien, the third NBA commissioner, is elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
