Wilt Chamberlain begins his NBA record of 35 consecutive fields goals made without a miss.

1968
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame opens in Springfield, Massachusetts.

1994
San Antonio's David Robinson records the fourth quadruple-double in the history of the league. He scored 34 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 10 assists, and served up 10 blocks in a 115-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
