1984:
David Stern becomes the 4th commissioner in NBA history, succeeding Larry O’Brien.

1984:
Bernard King scores 50 points against Dallas, matching his mark from the night before against San  Antonio. King became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1964 to score 50 points in consecutive nights.

1995:
John Stockton passes Earvin “Magic” Johnson on the all-time assist list to become the NBA’s top assist-man in its history.
